ABOUT Jessica
Jessica Winnings is a self-taught Hyperrealistic artist based out of Dallas, Texas. Her art story begins when she was young but has matured throughout the years through seasons of sickness, namely, epilepsy. When Jessica was younger, she always had a niche for the Arts. She loved singing, dancing, doodling, and getting her hands dirty in mud, clay, and charcoal. One of her favorite core memories growing up was making “Thank You” cards with her mom.
In April of 2020 Jessica experienced spiritual warfare that came in the form of a seizure. She felt that the seizure was different than others and recalls the physical temperature in the room dropping instantly and the once warm room became freezing. Both her and her husband, Shane, remember feeling an instant chill, as though a dark presence entered the room, and that is when Jessica fell into a seizure.
Jessica believes that a supernatural gift was imparted through the affliction. Although she had previously dipped her hands in different art mediums, there was a turning point in her artistry that took her craft from ameteur and inexperienced, to professional and matured. A week later, Jessica thought to pick up a picture and draw a Hyperrealistc self portrait, and that is where Hyperrealism was birthed in Jessica’s story.
She now draws original pieces with graphite and charcoal full-time, and is continuing to grow as an artist.
Before acknowledgement or benefits, Jessica’s first and only desire is to give God glory through her work. She prays that those who look at her pieces would feel the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to sanctify and redeem every heart, and hopes to bring scripture to life in a new and creative way.
